Gangneung Citizen Football Club ‘makes it two wins in a row’ with away win over Changwon

Gangneung Citizens Football Club has gone unbeaten in six matches.

Gangneung Citizens Football Club, led by Gangneung native Kim Do-geun, won 2-1 away to Changwon City Football Club in the 19th round of the 2023 K3 League at Changwon General Sports Complex on 14 April. With the victory, Gangneung, unbeaten in its last six matches (three wins and three draws) and the first back-to-back wins of the season, maintained its 10th place in the league with 21 points (five wins, six draws and eight losses).

The game also saw a number of new signings shine. Lee Dae-gwang and Kareca each scored a goal on the day after sharing the winning goal against Ulsan Citizens Football Club on 8 August.

Lee opened the scoring for Changwon in the 10th minute, finishing off a pass from Yoon Dae-gwang with a volley. Then, in the 15th minute of the second half, Kareca added another goal with a powerful mid-range shot after breaking down the opposition defence. Despite Changwon pulling one back in stoppage time, the game ended in a 2-1 victory for Gangneung.
