Oh Hyun-gyu, Celtic’s de facto official… Shall we continue the Asian player craze?

Oh Hyun-gyu (Suwon Samsung) is expected to become the first Korean player to advance to Europe after the World Cup.

Britain’s ‘Sky Sports’ reported on the 23rd (Korean time), “Celtic of the Scottish Premier League (SPL) has agreed to sign striker Oh Hyun-kyu from Suwon Samsung. The deal is imminent.”

Oh Hyun-kyu, who made his professional debut by signing a semi-professional contract with Suwon in 2019, joined Sangmu relatively early and solved military problems. Oh Hyun-gyu scored 13 goals in 2021 and established himself as a key striker for Suwon Samsung.

Oh Hyun-gyu did not participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but joined as a reserve member and received great expectations.

Celtic, which has recently been having fun with Japanese players, paid attention to Oh Hyeon-gyu. Celtic, which is familiar to Korean fans because Ki Sung-yueng and Cha Doo-ri excelled in the past, are having fun with J-League player blood transfusions after Engie Postecoglu, who had experience in the J-League, took over as manager.

Having only four Japanese players, including Daizen Maeda, Tomoki Iwata, Leo Hatate, and Yosuke Ideguchi, we enjoyed the success of the European stage. Oh Hyeon-kyu is also aiming as part of this movement. 메이저놀이터

Sky Sports said, “Oh Hyun-gyu’s transfer fee is 2.5 million pounds (approximately 3.8 billion won). The agreement between the two clubs has been finalized.”

In fact, Celtic is known to have taken an active stance by constantly contacting Suwon to raise the transfer fee in order to tap into Oh Hyun-kyu’s recruitment since December.
