Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw made his second bullpen appearance without incident. He is expected to return in early August at the earliest.
“He got a good feel for it in his second bullpen outing since the injury,” 바카라사이트 Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told local media on Wednesday.
Kershaw received an injection after suffering shoulder inflammation on 28 May against the Colorado Rockies. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list (IL) with left shoulder soreness on April 4. He was selected to his 10th All-Star team, the most in franchise history, but missed the All-Star Game.
Kershaw, who has been working his way back, threw 30 pitches in his first bullpen outing since the injury on the 19th. He upped the count to more than 40 pitches on the 22nd. In his third bullpen appearance on the 25th, he will throw and rest, just as he would in a live game.
According to Roberts, there are no specific plans for Kershaw’s minor league rehab starts. As soon as he’s healthy enough, he’ll return to the roster. “Kershaw is expected to make one three-inning simulated game appearance,” MLB.com said.
In his 16-year big league career, Kershaw is 207-91 with a 2.48 ERA. He has won three Cy Young Awards and five ERA titles. This season, he is 10-4 with a 2.55 ERA in 16 starts.
The Dodgers lead the National League West with a 57-40 record. They are four games behind the second-place Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers will get a boost to their lead when ace Kershaw returns. Kershaw is also back in the race for the most wins and the Cy Young Award.
